How Does VibraJect Work?
Nerve endings that sense pain and temperature are uninsulated, small, and have relatively low signal intensities. On the other hand, nerves that respond to vibration and pressure are better insulated, larger, and have higher signal intensities. By using a mild vibrating sensation, VibraJect helps to override the pain signals caused by the needle.
It is thought that through the combination of vibration and pain signals, as with VibraJect injections, the “vibration” messages being carried via the insulated nerves overrides the “pain” messages traveling through the small uninsulated nerves. The “tactile” pathway seems to inhibit the “pain” pathway located at the dorsal horn of the spine. As such, the patient only feels the vibration sensation which lends further credence to proving the Gate Theory of Perception.
Powered by a battery-operated (either rechargeable or 1.5 volt replacement) motor that attaches to a conventional syringe, VibraJect uses high frequency needle vibrations aimed at blocking pain transmission. With a simple twist of the batter cap, the vibrations start and due to the ease of use, most practitioners find that their normal technique is unaffected. Because VibraJect snaps directly onto an existing syringe, it is a simple, proven, and cost-effective device for dentists to utilize. In addition, there are no disposable aspects (hand pieces or tips) and no new techniques or procedures that have to be learned. Maintaining sterility is easy since the clip bracket is autoclavable and the motor cartridge can be easily removed for cleaning with a disinfectant.
VibraJect is effective for any type of injection including palatal, blocks, and intra-ligamental. And because VibraJect can be attached to irrigation syringes, the sonic vibrations can be useful in endodontic disinfection and debridement procedures such as dislodging material during root canal.

Dr. Ara Nazarian ~ "As dentists, we all think our injections do not hurt, or that we may not need such a device, but I can tell you from my experience that my patients do appreciate this system. I have personally experienced referrals from other patients that specifically ask for the vibrating needle. I highly recommend VibraJect for your practice"
Don McNamara, D.D.S. ~ "The VibraJect is the #1 gizmo that I've purchased in my 30 years of practice. I honestly think that most dentists conclude that it is too good to be true. No topical, no adjustment of standard technique, no objections from patients and a good source for referrals, and NO PAIN."
Dr. Tim Kosinski ~ "I have to say, I was surprised at how well this simple little gadget clinically works - it actually works as advertised! I've purchased and used the Dental-Vibe, as well as the Wand system in the past, and I have to say the VibraJect is the most simple and effective solution for me clinically, as well as economically per patient. My patients and my staff love it."
